Letters home... where ever that may be.
I knew you forever and you were always old, soft white lady of my heart. Surely you would scold me for sitting up late, reading your letters...
~Anne Sexton (1928–1974), U.S. poet. "Some Foreign Letters."

Lefebvre Update
The Lefebvres are doing quite well here in Susanville. We celebrated a very nice Christmas with both of our families and rolled in the New Year like a couple of old folks: "Do we have to stay up? I guess we should..." Last year we were in the hospital and slept through New Years, and we were bummed that we "missed it." But we have a 1 year old now and have magically turned into old farts.
We are still in escrow on our house here in Susanville. We're hoping to close by the 28th but the appraiser called for the paint to be done before we close and with the cold weather, we're hoping and praying that it can be done in 15 days.
We've met some new friends in town which is what I had really been hoping and praying for. (Lots of hoping and praying goin' on here!) They're a Christian family with 2 kids and we got together with them last night for dinner and really hit it off!
Today I had an ultrasound on my abdomen to see if I have gall stones. The tech said everything looked clear, but that just means there will probably be other tests to follow to find out why I've been having such stomach issues. Diet elimination has been the only thing to help so far, but that has really limited what I can eat. Rather than giving you an example of what DOES upset things, I'll give you the list of things that DOES NOT: bread, pickles, pretzels, cooked vegetables. That's it. Pretty boring, huh? Well... hopefully we can figure it out and it's not an allergy or something.
This weekend we're going to try out a new church in town. I'll let you know how that goes. Adam and I both have Monday off, so we're going to stay in and rent movies to watch on our NEW 46" plasma TV !!! Our Christmas gift to each other was the commitment to save up for a TV and last weekend, we reach our goal and made a special trip to Costco to buy it! Our last TV was a BEAST and weighed close to 100 lb. The new plasma is so light and hardly takes up any room in my little apartment living room. It'll take up even less of the room in our NEW HOUSE (granted we close :).
My only resolution this year is to be more organzied and to pick up better after myself (it may sound like 2 resolutions, but it's really just one). And if you were to look at my kitchen table, you may say I've already blew it. But I'm exempt from holding to my resolution until we move (I've decided). Why try and be organized in a space that I don't like and in a house that is too small for us. But we have started to put seasonally used items in a storage unit, which has helped me feel like I'm on the right path. Haha, I just realized in our NEW HOUSE we'll have about 400 extra square feet for our stuff, which is the same size as my & Adam's first apartment. Ha!
Ok, enough for now. Thanks for reading and when there's something new to share, I'll let you know!! xoxox (It's like a journal entry)!
Lucy's first Birthday
This was the highlight of Lucy's first birthday party; she was so joyful... that and the fact that over 48 people attended! We felt so blessed to be surrounded by our friends and family from the Paradise Area (and some from MUCH further away) even though we haven't lived there in 5 years!
On her actual birthday we took her out to TCBY and let her have her own frozen yougurt cup.
This last year has been the most joyful for Adam and myself. We love Lucy so much and she is the perfect addition to our lives.
At her one year appointment she weighed in at just 17.5 lbs, and 28.5"! She's still a petite little thing, but she sure takes up a lot of room in our house. :)
I'm looking forward to another year with Lucy. I can't wait to see her walk and start to formulate sentences and all the other things that happen before 2.... She's my joy!
Lucy's first Christmas
Playing catch-up with Thanksgiving...
We brought along our friend Matt (he works with Adam in the Forest Service, but his family is in New York) and he was a great addition to the festivities.
